New Baby Soft Toy Robot and Robot Card

March 7th 2015

I made this little soft toy robot for a friend’s first baby and I was inspired to make the card to match. I’ve added some images showing how to make the toy robot below.

Robot New Baby Card And Soft Toy Robot

The robot was simply made of 6 sewn cubes. For each cube stitch together 6 squares on the reverse leaving one side open for stuffing. Turn right side out and stuff. Close the open seam with a hidden stitch.

Make 4 small cubes for the arms and legs one large cube for the head and a medium cube (slightly smaller than the head) for the body. Attach the arms legs and head to the body. First securely sew the body to the head. For the arms attached them along one edge so they can move but for the legs attach along the 4 top edges so they remained in place.

Finally embroider on a cute face and some buttons.

Simple Knitted Toy Dog: Pupster Pattern

February 14th 2015

I knitted this little puppy from a pattern I found on Pinterest. It’s called Pupster, was created by FuzzyMitten.com and can be purchased on Ravelry.
It was a really quick and simple pattern to follow. I decided to embroider the eyes open as I made it as a gift for a new baby. The original pattern has instructions for a jumper but I decided instead to give him a green scarf to keep him warm which was simply a length knitted in sticking stitch. I also decided to make him all one colour apart from his snout. The original pattern has instructions to have different colour patches on his hands, feet and tail also. Due to the simplicity of the pattern it was easy to make this change so not only is it a good pattern to follow but also a versatile one.

January 23rd 2015

There’s been lots of new arrivals in the last year so I’ve been having fun making toys and new baby cards.

This was my make of the Bloomsbury Elephant knitting pattern by Amanda Berry made for my super cute nephew.

It was very simple to follow and I’m really happy with the result. I also decided to knit a little scarf to keep him warm.

Easter Bunnies

March 31st 2013

I found a lovely knitted bunny tutorial pinned all over pinterest. The bunny is made from one square of knitting.

So I thought I’d have a go myself for Easter. I made it with some fat wool and big needles so I ended up with this fluffy, chubby bunny. I also decided he could do with a face and used some black embroidery thread and some pink buttons for the inside of the ears.

Also since this is a bunny post I thought I’d add this knitted cutie I made for my niece when she was born almost 2 years ago. I found the pattern on the Rowan Wool website. They have lots of lovely things to make with their wool.
